I cut and polished one side of this piece and left the remainder raw. I drilled a hole that is just over 2mm. Libyan Desert glass is found on a strewnfield in the Western Egyptian desert, this mainly Lechatelierite mineral has been used in Egyptian antiquities as a gemstone. This impact glass has been disputed amongst scientists to as whether or not it came from an impact at all - mainly because no impact site has been located - yet! It has been dated to be formed around 29 million years ago. Did you know, Tutankhamun's broach has a carved Libyan Desert Glass scarab in it?
If you decide to purchase a chain, it will be the one in the images show, it is a 925 silver ball chain. Otherwise it will come with an adjustable black cotton cord.
