This Shah Maghsoud has been hand carved by me to fit onto this hair clip!
This stone originates from Afghanistan. Assumed to be a Serpentine, recently the owner of Divine Gems had a piece tested at UVIC, and stated they were not quite sure - possibly Actinolite which would be interesting. Someone mentioned Bowenite - and there is actually a mine in Afghanistan - so maybe the word changed during translation or it is it's own name or a trade name? Either way, this stone has an incredible texture--like a greasy feeling that obviously doesn't rub off--very nice to touch!
I have had many people from fine, thin, curly, and thick hair say the clip holds very well! I personally have fine and thin hair, and love that has stayed put in comparison to many others I have tried over the years.
In order to keep the longevity of this clip, I would suggest not wearing it in water or in wet hair!
The stone is epoxied onto the hair clip which is 2.16" x 0.59" (5.5 x 1.5 cm) and is made of Rhodium.
