These Hackmanite earweights were made by me for stretched ears -- you must be AT LEAST 8g (3mm) in order to wear these! I carved and polished the pair of Hackmanite claws from raw stone then used the Tiffany Technique which I have learned from a stained glass class, but using a lead free solder with a percentage of silver in it to solder it. A little teardrop at the end, makes your weights more secure. This Hackmanite is from Greenland: it is a type of sulfer-rich Sodalite that displays tenebrescence (changes minerals when exposed to sunlight). This particular kind comes from the Ilimausaq complex and you can find more information under the names 'chameleon Sodalite' and 'uranyl sodalite'. When I research the green variety, it actually seems pretty rare. Under Black light it glows a bright orange (seen in the first image). Photos 6, 7 and 8 are of the stones after they have been in the sun for awhile - called Tenebrescence, few stones change colour when exposed the sun! Under black light the majority of these glow orange, but in the pink places it glows pink so MAYBE tugtupite, but also there is red hackmanite out there so I am unsure of which one that part is. The last 2 images are the weights shown to what they will almost look like in your ears (I wore tunnels so the weights didn't get my ears on it!) They weigh a total of 14.70 grams (one is 7.58 grams and the other is 7.12 grams). I do not have any more of these--they are one of a kind :) They are a one of a kind, crafted on a lapidary machine. Ear weights shown in the picture is the pair you will receive. As this is body jewelry, these items cannot be returned or exchanged for sanitary reasons. To prevent wear and tear do not use while bathing or swimming; also shouldn't wear to sleep!
