Kunzite is a type of Spodumene that is reserves specifically for this pink mineral. Green is known as Hiddenite, and colourless is simply Spodumene. It is found in Lithium-rich Pegmatites and can grow as long as 12 meters in length!
I have trouble carving this stone due to the way it grows - I made one pair of plugs that were held together with epoxy and love, and since then have hoarded the large raw pieces for years after. This piece is a stunning gemmy pink!
