This Tugtupite pendant was hand carved by myself -- This stone originates from Greenland and is a pink stone embedded in white Albite! It glows pink under black light and is quite rare. It is also tenebrescent which means it gains more colour under the sun...making it similar to fluorescent sodalite (named Hackmanite) and can actually be found together in the same piece. Tugtupite is named after the area in which it was discovered (Tugtup Agtâkorfia). It is a member of the Helvine group which is a subgroup of the Sodalite group. The pink is the actual Tugtupite, which is embedded in the host rock which is Albite (white) and Aegirine (black). There is a legend of lovers that had a passion so hot that it heated the stone and turned it fiery red. I drilled a hole just over 2mm in the side. If you decide to purchase a chain, it is the ball chain shown in 925 silver. Otherwise it comes with an adjustable black cotton cord.
