This Saffordite was hand collected in Arizona - I traded a bunch for other stones I carved, and was excited to reveal what was hiding underneath! Each one I carved into a shape that it most resembled, and every one was unique in their own way. This one in particular is opaque but beautiful nonetheless. I carved it into a crystal point shape, there are rough stone corners on a few as I didn't want to carve this any smaller. It is self standing and I was thinking of my crystal point collection while I carved it - would compliment tiny ones well :) Saffordite aka Cintimani stone has a lot of controversy behind it (depending where you look). Some say it is a Tektite, some a psuedo-Tektite, and some Obsidian. There has been no confirmation of the original source for these pebbles laying over the land near Safford, Arizona. I think these precious nuggets are incredible no matter what they are - some I have seen bubbles in much like Moldavite, and some have banding. When you are able to see through them tho, I personally think it's the jackpot <3 Have you researched this stone? What do you think?
