This Nuummite displays bright colourful flashes and is set in a size 10 sterling silver ring setting. This stone originates from Greenland. Nuummite literally means "derived from Nuuk", which is where near where Nuummite was first discovered. Nuummite is a trade name for an Anthophyllite-Gedrite series of stones that contain a certain iridescence. It is quite rare, as one can only get to the locale via boat during certain months when the ice has melted. It can be seen in a variety of 'grades', the highest seemingly being the ones with the most colours and flash! Super grounding, AND fun to play with ;)
Some people are selling Coppernite, Astrophyllite, and Arfvedsonite as Nuummite so watch out! Though they may look similar, they have a completely different chemical composition. I enjoy using mindat.org (a mineral database) for comparing crystals to see how similar they are. I hope that helps you with your crystal adventures ;)
I personally carve Nuummite and find it to be a very grounding stone, maybe that is why I enjoy carving it so much!
I didn't personally make these, I happened to find a score of these gorgeous pendants that I needed to hoard for awhile XD
Approximate dimensions of the stone:
Height: 22.20mm
Width: 11.55mm
Depth: 6mm
5.98 grams total
