I bought a few 925 silver bezel settings at the May 2025 rock and gem show. I knew right away when I looked at them which stones would look great in it, and if the Holly Blue I had hoarded, had a large enough area to work with, it was one of them!
This Holly Blue Agate was purchased around 2017 - I got a bunch of this stone when I first began my carving adventures as I absolutely love this colour! When slicing into it I quickly realized that this was more specimen than lapidary material - there are so many crevices! This one piece was salvages though! This stone is specific to Sweet Home in Oregon, in which is allegedly the area in which is found is now closed as a timber company has bought the land. Because of that, what is out on the market is all there is, and has become quite a rare find.
