This cabochon is hand carved by myself from raw Hackmanite - the stone is from Afghanistan and I bought raw straight from the miner! Hackmanite is a type of fluorescent Sodalite and can come in a variety of colours - this one is purple and glows pink under black light! This crystal is also tenebrescent, which means it gets darker under the sun! Would you like to know more about this stone? Check out this site: https://www.mindat.org/min-1789.html
This one in particular is surrounded by a white host rock that is absolutely sparkly. I am not sure what stone it is (it doesn't glow), most likely an Albite. There was a small crack on the bezel in the bottom, so I carved and polished it down so it would still be easy to set in silver but also not compromise the shape in the front of the stone.
Rough Dimensions:
Length: 25.75mm
Width: 17.65mm
Depth: 6.85mm (including 3.15mm bezel)
5.51 Grams
This is one of a kind, crafted on a lapidary machine. Crystal shown in the pictures is the one you will receive.
